The visual language has a long history, carrying the evolutions of humans development. As a part of that field, the scriptural language has led us to the possibility to figure names, to describe and relate events; opening us to understand and permiting to remember.

The written language has diverse functions, involving multiple layers of production and understanding. It consists in a relationship between the legibility, the visibility and the expressivity. Besides the clear use we approach daily, some of its features are double, even ambivalent. However the signs encompass mystery and sensitivness : abstract and concrete, we do also perceive their deep complexity.

Being a tool of presence when the materiality of things vanished away from the senses, the writings are here to keep and share our emotions. Free from the oral language transcription, they exhibit something different from what they are generaly attributed to, regarding the alphabet as a minimalistic system of the transcription of sounds.

“We feel the forms as much as we read their meaning.”

Indeed their history reflects the human-being matters. The writings are lively forms : they vibrate, transmit, tell, sweat, exchange. They are the visible -intimate and public- movements of the mind as a body for our thoughts.
